5 event locations and 8 hotels: The d-fine Special Convention 2024 in Leipzig was a diverse and impressive weekend that combined sustainability with innovative event design. More than 2,000 guests attended to experience a programme focused on diversity and community.

Leipzig, a city full of charm and character, was chosen with intention: guests were able to travel sustainably by train and reach almost all event venues easily on foot or by tram.

A total of eight carefully selected hotels ensured comfort, short distances, and a pleasant overall experience. Guests were provided with all hotel and programme details via a dedicated website, which served as more than just a guest management tool. The platform offered personalised information, tips for exploring Leipzig, and real-time updates on locations, setups, menus, programmes, and schedules.

The weekend kicked off on Friday evening with a special opening event: the parking area of the Westin Hotel was transformed into a vibrant urban food festival. Two large tents, a food truck area, a live music stage, and a summery urban setup created a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. The creative design set the tone for a lively yet laid-back experience – the perfect start to the “Leipzig City Safari” adventure.

On Saturday, participants had the chance to experience Leipzig in a variety of ways: some explored the city’s cultural and historical highlights, while others spent the day at the idyllic Cospuden Lake – enjoying water sports, relaxation, and a laid-back beach party. Lunchtime offered culinary delights and inspiring encounters at unique venues such as Moritzbastei and the racetrack gastronomy.

The highlight of the weekend followed in the evening: the Zootopia evening event at the Kongresshalle at Leipzig Zoo.

Each room was uniquely designed and offered a diverse programme – from nostalgic flair and a jungle jazz terrace to interactive photo lounges and a vibrant party featuring elaborate mapping shows, live music, and DJs. The evening was rounded off with a custom-produced event film that charmed guests with wit and self-irony while highlighting d-fine’s identity.

The d-fine Special Convention in Leipzig demonstrated how thoughtful planning, creative ideas, and a clear focus on sustainability can transform a corporate event into an unforgettable experience.
